[ES] Sé, que el lugar más interesante en Sydney para mis lectores, es la Ópera famosa. Naturalmente, tengo fotos con el edificio icónico. Pero voy a empezar con otros lugares. La Ópera va a ser el postre de este artículo 😊

[EN] I think that my readers would like to see the Opera. Be patient, it's coming. On our way there we are going to pass through the Hyde Park, the "Old Town" and the Botanic Garden.

Hyde Park

[ES] Hay dos parques grandes en el centro de la ciudad – Hyde Park y el Jardín Botánico. Hyde Park es el parque público más antiguo de Sydney. Tiene forma rectangular y los senderos son rectos. Hay una fuente histórica con esculturas de figuras de la antigua Roma y Grecia. Bueno, “histórica” para los australianos significa todo lo anterior a la Segunda Guerra Mundial. La fuente fue construida en 1932.

[EN] There are two large parks in downtown Sydney - Hyde Park and the Botanic Garden. The Hyde Park is the oldest public park in Sydney. It is rectangular, with most footpaths going straight. There is a historical fountain with sculptures of ancient Roman and Greek heroes. Well, "historical" in Australia means everything pre-WWII. The fountain was built in 1932.

[PL] W centrum Sydney są dwa duże parki - Hyde Park i Ogród Botaniczny. Hyde Park to najstarszy publiczny park w mieście. Ma kształt prostokąta a większość ścieżek biegnie prosto. Znajduje się w nim "historyczna" fontanna przedstawiająca postaci związane z starożytną Grecją i Rzymem. No cóż, trzeba pamiętać, że w Australii historyczne jest wszystko co powstało przed II Wojną Światową. Fontannę zbudowano w 1932r.

[ES] Otra escultura en Hyde Park es una estatua del Capitán Cook. James Cook “descubrió” Australia en 1770. No fue el primer europeo en el continente. Pero fue el primero que visitó a su parte sureste y declaró Australia como propiedad de la corona inglesa. No preguntó a los nativos (aborígenes) de Australia…

[EN] Another sculpture in the park is the statue of Captain Cook. James Cook "discovered" Australia in 1770. He wasn't the first European on the continent. However, being the first to reach the eastern coast, he declared Australia as a property of the British Crown. He didn't ask the Aborignes what they thought...

[PL] W parku znajduje się pomnik kapitana Cook'a. James Cook "odkrył" Australię w 1770r. Nie był co prawda pierwszym Europejczykiem na kontynencie. Ale był pierwszy na jego wschodnim wybrzeżu, więc uznał za stosowne ogłoszenie lądu własnością korony brytyjskiej. Aborygenów o zdanie nie zapytał...

[ES] El monumento más importante para los australianos es “ANZAC Memorial”. Es un edificio para conmemorar a los soldados australianos y neozelandeses que murieron en la Primera Guerra Mundial. La guerra fue un conflicto europeo, pero Australia y Nueva Zelanda ayudaron a la Gran Bretaña.

[EN] The most important monument for the Australians is ANZAC Memorial. It commemorates Australians and New Zealanders fallen in WWI. It was an European conflict but both countries decided to help Great Britain. 

[PL] Najważniejszym pomnikiem dla Australijczyków jest ANZAC Memorial. Upamiętnia on australijskich i nowozelandzkich żołnierzy poległych w I Wojnie Światowej. To był konflikt europejski, ale oba kraje wysłały swoich żołnierzy by pomóc Wielkiej Brytanii.

El centro histórico

[ES] Sydney es la ciudad más antigua de Australia. Fue fundada en 1788 por Arthur Phillip y fue… una colonia de convictos. Solo en 1842 Sydney fue declarada una ciudad, la primera de Australia. En el centro histórico hay algunos edificios del siglo XIX. El Ayuntamiento de Sydney se construyó en la década de 1880 (en el lugar de un antiguo cementerio).

[EN] Sydney is the oldest city in Australia. Founded by Arthur Phillip in 1788, initially as a penal colony. Only in 1842 did Sydney receive a city charter, the first in Australia. In its historical center there are quite a few XIX century buildings. The Town Hall was built in 1880 (on a former cemetery).

[PL] Sydney to najstarsze miasto w Australii. Założył je Arthur Phillip w 1788 jako... kolonię karną. Dopiero w 1842r uzyskało prawa miejskie, jako pierwsze w Australii. W historycznym centrum jest sporo budynków z XIX wieku. Ratusz zbudowano w 1880r. (na miejscu dawnego cmentarza).

[ES] El edificio más grande de la antigua Sydney es el Queen Victoria Building (el edificio de la Reina Victoria). Fue diseñado para un mercado. Representa el estilo neorromántico de finales del siglo XIX. Mide 30 metros de ancho por 190 metros de largo.

[EN] The largest building of Old Sydney is the Queen Victoria Building. It was designed as a market hall. Its style is typical of the neoromanticism of the end of XIX century. It measures 30 by 190 meters.

[PL] Największym budynkiem starego Sydney jest Queen Victoria Building. Zaprojektowany jako hala targowa, reprezentuje klasyczny neoromantyzm końca XIX wieku. Ma 30 metrów szerokości na 190m długości.

La Ópera

[ES] Ahora, vamos a la Ópera. Pero primero, una foto del Jardín Botánico, que debemos cruzar de camino al edificio emblemático. He encontrado allí un arbusto con forma de koala.

[EN] Finally, we are going to see the famous Opera House. But first a photo from the Botanic Garden. I have found a koala-shaped bush.

[PL] Wreszcie udajemy się w stronę słynnej Opery. Ale po drodze zdjęcie krzaku-koala z Ogrodu Botanicznego. 

[ES] Casi todas las fotos de la casa de la Ópera la muestran desde Sydney Harbour (la ría del río Paramatta). Yo la vi desde la ciudad. El edificio es bonito e innovador, verdad. Pero visto desde la ciudad, no es tan impresionante como imaginaba. La forma es una serie de “conchas”, cada una tomada de la misma semiesfera.

[EN] Most photos of the Opera House show it from the Harbour. I approached from the land and the building didn't look as great I had imagined. True, the building is beautiful. It is formed of "shells", cut from a single sphere. 

[PL] Większość zdjęć Opery robionych jest od zatoki. Podchodząc od lądu, budynek nie wydawał mi się tak wspaniały jak sobie wyobrażałem. Oczywiście, budynek jest piękny. Składa się z kilku "muszli" wyciętych z jednej sfery.
