Almost everybody would agree that the passing year 2020 was a special one. For me it meant switching from travel-intensive work (155 flights last year!) to home office. It also meant more hiking in my home country than travelling abroad. Let me share my impressions of the Year 2020 in 12 Photos - January for a starter.
Photo of the month
Before the Covid era started, I had had an opportunity to visit Australia. Two weeks of work in Melbourne and a weekend for me to enjoy. I did take the most out it. My photo of the month is 12 Apostles - a scenic group of 8 (!) rocks shaped by winds and ocean. Located off the coast of southern Victoria, Australia, it's a must-see site. If I get enough encouragement here and at PeakD, I will publish a separate post on my trip down the Great Ocean Road.
Runner up
The year started for with an spontaneous trip with my Sister #2 to Morskie Oko, Poland. 1st of January, we woke up at 4am, drove 200km and hit the usually crowded parking lot first. We then hiked 10km up a valley to see a frozen lake surrounded by high peaks of the Tatras. Absolutely fantastically beautiful scenery!
Also on the podium
My third photo is an early morning panorama of Barcelona, Spain. The photo was taken from the Tibidabo hill, just before the sunrise. I loved the lights of Barcelona, the dark line of the Mediterranean and the dawn-lit sky.
Stay tuned
This was the first in the series 'Year 2020 in 12 Photos' - January. I will post consecutive months over the last 12 days of December 2020. Stay tuned!
