[EN] Where to take a blogger and traveler (see BudgetBucketList) who has less than 48h in Poland? The Tatras, of course. And - obviously for me, but probably not for many others - the Gorce mountains! We had almost exclusively for us.

Zdjęcie cokolwiek dziwne, prawda? Ale właścicielka stopy wie o co chodzi. I może zdradzi w komentarzu pod tym postem?

[EN] A weird way to start a post, isn't it? The owner of the foot knows why and perhaps she chooses to tell the story?

[EN] We are going to climb Mt Turbacz doing a nice loop.

On a trail alone

"Gorce tylko dla nas" to adekwatny tytuł dla naszej wyprawy. Aż do Hali Turbacz nie spotykamy nikogo. Ani jednego zabłąkanego turysty na szlaku. To lubię!

[EN] Until almost the summit of Turbacz we hiked alone. A-L-O-N-E. All the beautiful views and trail exclusively for us. Luv that!

Dzień jest ciepły, ale nie gorący. Nie pada. Szlak najpierw ostro pod górę, a potem sama przyjemność wędrowania. Ale żeby nie było za łatwo, jak na polskie góry przystało, trochę w górę, trochę w dół.

[EN] The day is warm, but not hot. No rain. Our trail first goes "the Polish way" steeply up. Then we enjoy almost a flat part. But don't be fooled, the "flat" here means some ups and downs.

Pierwsza część ma kilka widokowych miejsc, jak Polana Turbaczyk, skąd widać Beskid Wyspowy. Ale większość prowadzi lasem. Las kończy się dopiero za Czołem Turbacza.

[EN] The first part offers little views, as it goes mostly thru a forest. Only when we reach the altitude of about 1100m, the forest gives way to montane meadows. 

Vegetarian Polish style

Samotna wędrówka kończy się pod Turbaczem. Dzień roboczy, więc tłumów nie ma. Możemy bez przeszkód podziwiać Babią Górę ze szczytu.

[EN] The lone hike ends at the summit of Turbacz. That's expected. But since it's a work day, we meet only a few people there. So we can take it the views, including the iconic Babia Góra.

Po nacieszeniu się widokiem, pora na małe co nie co w schronisku pod Turbaczem. Ja wybieram zestaw mocno jagodowy. Stephanie jest fanką pierogów, ale w wersji wege. Jest odpowiednia opcja - pierogi ruskie. Jako potrawa wegetariańska, serwowane z... skwarkami. Wegetarianizm po polsku :-)

[EN] Time for lunch at the Turbacz mountain hut (shall I say "hotel"?). I choose all things berries. Stephanie also goes for a vegetarian option and orders "russian" pierogi - they contain cheese, potatoes and onion. But true to the spirit of vegetarianism, they are served with... beacon. Meet vegetarian the Polish way :-)

All good things come to an end

Wędrowanie po pustawych Gorcach to esencja przyjemności Włóczykijowania. Ale Stephanie ma wieczorem samolot i trzeba dojechać do Krakowa. Pomimo, że mamy Gorce tylko dla nas, schodzimy do Koninek.

[EN] Wandering across almost empty Gorce mts is pure pleasure. However, Stephanie needs to make it for a plane from Cracow. Reluctantly, we descend to our base camp and hit the road.
